From the library

I'm sitting in front of a desk of the bibliotheque de Génie de l'université de Sherbrooke... Today is -17°C but i don't feel so different from when it is 1° or 2° at home... We spent some calm days exploring Sherbooke, doing shopping, working (for Hamed only, time goes slow and I love it's like this!
Tomorrow we'll wake up at 5.00, walking to the Uni, taking a bus for Ottawa: yuppieeeeee!!!

Snowmen and other stories!

Canada seems a happy place!
Right in front of the bus central station of Montreal there's one of the biggest library I've ever seen!!
Houses are little: wooden or in little red bricks. In front of one of them i've seen a family of inflatable snowmen stuck there for Xmas period: father, mother, a child, a baby!!
Most of all, while i was looking for my nose; lost because of the cold, I've seen a squirrel in a garden!!
Italy is so far away!!!

Selma au Quebec!

I spent many of the past days trying to write a post about all the things which made me sad in the last months, starting from my work on the thesis, finishing with my PHD without grant that made me angrier than happy...
After the last news, yesterday evening -My boss failed the contest to select the new Medieval Archaeology researcher, because someone, who never came here before, never worked with us before, never studied the subjects concerning our excavation area, seemed to be more qualified than her- i decided to stop writing forever about this kind of Italian magics and shift to nicer facts!
So i am here to announce you I'm going to spend a month in Sherbrooke, Quebec -With some days in Montreal and Quebec city too- starting from Sunday the 14th, as it was the furthest place from Italy i had the possibility to go: if it's possible, I'll take an almost daily diary of my experience, if not, I'll try to tell you all about Quebec when i come back in January!

Cheers!

S.
